Welcome!

Kristel is a composer and mezzo-soprano living in living in Singapore. Currently teaching music at Orchid Park Secondary School, she continues to sing and is active as a performer. Kristel has composed art music and designed sound sequences that range from music for unusual chamber ensembles to choir and orchestra and she continues to explore various sound structures in her music. In September 2005, she successfully completed her Master of Music in Composition at the University of Leeds. In June of 2004, she graduated from the University of Western Ontario where she received her Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition.

Kristel was born in Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada in 1981 and grew up in Ottawa. Her vocal experience includes classical, musical theatre, jazz, opera, operetta, rock and pop. She has also studied acting/theatre and dancing. She has sung in many touring choirs including the Leeds University Liturgical Choir and the Cantata Singers of Ottawa and performed in various European countries including Czech Republic, Poland, France and England.
